Deputies Shoot and Kill Suspected Pot Grower
A man was shot and killed by sheriff’s deputies in a remote element of Santa Clara County where thousands of marijuana plants were growing. Consistent with Sgt. Rick Sung, the guy pointed a rifle at the deputies prompting three of them to fireside. In line with Sung, after the guy – whose name has yet to be released – was wounded he went for his rifle causing deputies to fireside again, this time killing him.
Authorities were within the remote area on what Sung describes as a “scouting mission” for pot. The deputies concerned about the shooting are now on paid leave pending an investigation by the sheriff and the district attorney’s office.
According to Sung, the 20,000 pot plants found at the scene have a street value of up to $80 million.
