I am writing this review on behalf of my mother who is not able to do it at this time. This was a great book that held my interest. I went to put it down several times but after reading the next chapter title I was compelled to keep reading. If you want to know what life was like in the south during this time period or just want to reminisce about southern living this is a page turner.
