Man Claims He Sold Pot to Pay for Police Academy

2010 September 1

Police hear every type of excuses after busting someone for selling pot. However, every once in a while, they encounter something truly original. Authorities claim this was the case in Orem, Utah when cops arrested a 20-year-old man who told them he was “dealing the medication to save lots of up for the police academy.”

According to an Orem police sergeant, “It truly is the first time I’ve heard of someone admitting it… Most drug dealers wouldn’t say they were seeking to save up to become a cop.”

We shouldn’t dismiss the chance that the 20-year-old was playing to his audience. However he was serious, I’m undecided how original the concept actually is – I’m pretty sure that was Bobcat Goldthwait’s plan in Police Academy 2.

However, if he ever does find himself able of authority as a law enforcement officer, hopefully he’ll take it easy on fellow marijuana enthusiasts.

At any rate, this is able to be a demonstration that the Orem, Utah police academy should lower its admission fee – you know, to lower on crime…
